French champions Paris Saint-Germain announced, on Wednesday, that three players in its ranks have been infected with the new Coronavirus, without revealing their names.
The European runner-up wrote on his Twitter account: “3 PSG players have been confirmed to be infected with the Coronavirus, and they are subject to the appropriate health protocol. The players and staff will continue to undergo tests in the coming days.”
Therefore, the three players will miss the club’s first game in the domestic league on September 10 against Lens, and perhaps face its guest, Marseille, on the 13th.
On Monday, the French capital club announced that two cases of the new Coronavirus were suspected among its players, without revealing their names after showing symptoms of the epidemic.
The local “L’Equipe” newspaper revealed that the players might be the Argentinians Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes. They spent their vacation on Ibiza’s Spanish tourist island after the team lost the Champions League final on August 23.
The league rules stipulate that the team’s training sessions should be cancelled in the event that four people in its ranks are infected with the virus, with the possibility of postponing the match.
